Let’s take a quick step back and remind ourselves what work-life balance and wellness are.  Work-life balance refers to the equilibrium between the time, energy and focus devoted to work and personal life activities. Achieving work-life balance is important for overall well-being and can have a positive impact on physical health, mental health, relationships, job satisfaction and overall quality of life. It involves effectively managing one’s time and setting clear boundaries between work and personal time.

Last time I mentioned a holistic framework that will pay attention to 8 areas of your life namely,

  • Emotional Well-being – emotional health and happiness
  • Physical Well-being – physical health and vitality
  • Intellectual Well-being – cognitive and mental health
  • Social Well-being – social connections and relationships
  • Occupational Well-being – career or work satisfaction
  • Environmental Well-being – harmony with the surrounding environment
  • Spiritual Well-being – connection with inner self and a higher power
  • Financial Wellbeing – financial stability

Which of these do you think is your strength and where do you need development?

These dimensions are interconnected and can impact each other. Achieving balance and wellness in these areas can contribute to an overall sense of well-being and a higher quality of life. It’s important to remember that wellbeing is a dynamic and individualised concept and everyone’s journey towards achieving wellbeing may be different. It’s important to assess and address each dimension of well-being based on your unique needs, values, and circumstances.

I will discuss each of these areas first by explaining what it is and then give you some practical tips to grow your well-being in the specific area. I propose you use a diary to pen down your journey.
